With this piece I am bringing together Grief, Growth and Groundedness to show how I view them interacting with each other.

Grief is signified by the black heart. The overall darkness of grief is dominating, and seems to swallow everything.

Growth is symbolized by the green heart. In reality, grief casts a shadow on the growth, and it does not remove it entirely – we remain growing whilst processing grief.

Both of these are contained within a subtle translucent rainbow highlight, showing Groundedness, which I am finding helpful whilst navigating the strong emotions.

This design was born at the end of 2024, while I was personally juggling the emotions related to both loss and growth. I wanted to create a visual reminder of the situation as I worked through it to avoid losing sight of growth.
