Updated on 05-June-2024 to include details of the costs.
The simplest items are the best way of demonstrating your love for all things LEGO®1. I’ve been playing around with the idea of keyrings. Here’s a picture of the first prototype I have created, using a used brick from my personal collection:
This unique item is fairly simple and cheap to make, and I have shared details of my estimated costs at the Ring a Brick page.
The cost of the parts needed to create this, and using a new 2×4 stud brick, come in at less than £0.50, and includes an estimated cost of packaging the end product. This makes it very cheap for me to create, and the resulting sale price will be low. Considering the additional cost of shipping this product, is it still cheap enough that people will buy it online, especially given the competition I face in this area?
Etsy already has competition in this area, and I cannot add any value beyond what you can buy already from these other sellers:
- Steve Wiskin of Warehouse18: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/842875506
- Lauren Brace of LauLauCreates: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/895320046
- Denise of Denisemakes: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/786968869
I haven’t given up on keyrings. I am just working a little harder to differentiate.
