Happy new year!
It’s been an exciting start to the year as I’ve been moving the business forwards.
My main focus so far has been on social media. I am trying to increase the visibility of my work and buuld the brand. I’m learning about how to do this, and what’s best for each of the platforms where I’m active.
I’ve also been continuing to build the portfolio, as I think about the next important date for the business to consider: Valentine’s Day.
Social Media
As I started this venture, I knew I would have to be more present on social media than I have in the past. I have written about this in Branding and the Sales Funnel, and at least internally I am comfortable trying to navigate this part of the business.
How does it look in practice?
- Start with the Facebook page for Unplayed Art, which is the professional voice for my business on the Facebook platform.
- Linked to this, I have my personal Instagram profile, which used to be more about Food, but is becoming a voice for my art work.
- I have my profile on X (formerly Twitter), also a personal account, which was originally intended to be for posting cat pictures, but I am expanding it to include posts relevant to my work here.
- I also have a profile on WeAre8, and trying to share updates there.
- Finally, for now, I have created a Ko-Fi page, that allows people to buy me a coffee to support me and my work.
The challenges I see are:
- Keeping track of all the social media platforms, and making sure I post to them regularly to build the communities.
- Considering how the posts on this website, and the mailing list, fits into the business.
Valentine’s Day
I’ve started with a modest portfolio, and I have the Heart brickwork to cater for Valentine’s Day.
There are many more variations that I will build to cater for diversity and equality. These variants are in the pipeline, but will not be ready in time for this year’s Valentine’s Day sales.
