All profits made by the business are invested back in to support growth towards the vision.
This page is intended to help you understand the costs behind the product that have been used to determine the sales price.
Cost of Parts
LEGO®1 parts are the ingredients of many of my builds.
The cost of these parts are determined using the LEGO® Pick a Brick service.
To help the business grow, and to reduce the sales prices of new products in the longer term, in addition to buying parts from their site, I also:
- Sourcing new parts using the BrickLink marketplace.
- Breaking down sets to their component parts, where it is a cost-effective way of getting the parts required for my products.
- Considering alternative suppliers when developing products.
Cost of Labour
Every product is hand-built, and this cost of labour is factored into the sales price.
Essentially the difference between the sale price and the cost price, including platform fees, is the amount I make on each sale. At this time, my profits, including the cost of labour
At this time I do not take a wage from the business, and the cost of my labour, is invested in the business along with the profits.
To give an idea of the cost of labour, as of September 2023, I have estimated it to be £13.49 per hour.
Note: The current National Living Wage in the UK was set in April 2023 at £10.42.
My hope is that there will be enough profit within this business that enables me to take a regular wage to live off.
Postage & Packing
The cost of the packaging is included in the sales price.
The cost of the postage is included on the store page for each product.
