Today, May 16th, is International Day of Living Together in Peace!
This has inspired me to create Living Together in Peace, and help promote peace, tolerance, inclusion, understanding and solidarity in the world.
We achieve a lot together, than we do as individuals, so the differences we all bring to the table are important.
I’ve always looked to being a part of teams and communities where I fit, and also those that fit me. These provide spaces for everyone to be their authentic selves.
I’ve been fortunate to find this in various spaces over time, and this is helping me Live Together in Peace with those around me:
- Family and Friends. Life is not a straightforward formula, and I’ve had both celebrations and setbacks along the way. The people around me who have supported me as I take various excursions in my life along the way have been so important to me, and I can’t thank them enough for sticking with me through it all.
- Mindfulness and Meditation. I have been fortunate to maintain mindfulness through practice within retreats with The Sharpham Trust, and being part of my local Plum Village sangha.
- Like-minded communities. I have been fortunate to find Together Culture Cambridge, a community which aligns well with my own values.
What helps you Live Together in Peace with those around you?
