This build was inspired by the Wear Blue For Rescue campaign that was run by Battersea Dogs & Cats Home during September 2023.

The colours chosen for the built are chosen based on the choice of pieces within the LEGO® Art Project set¹, and other pieces that I had in my own collection. The blue does not match the colour that is used within the campaign because I did not have enough pieces of of the colour – there are 1100 of those dots!

Behind the brickwork

I am a cat person, and my first cat-daughter was Jane, rescued at the ripe young age of 15 years in 2019. She found her forever home, and having had a few years of closeness, passed away in 2022.

Adopting a homeless pet from a rescue centre is so inspiring. It’s not their fault they’ve ended up there, and deserve a good place they can call home too.

I was too late to sell or auction this piece during the campaign itself, but it helped me understand the feasibility of this business. 50% of the profits from the sales of this brickwork will be donated to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.
