By purchasing a commission from me (the artist) you agree to be purchasing my services only. If you have a problem with any of the below terms and conditions, they may be changed if discussed with me prior to paying for your commission.
General Terms
- All design drawings, digital renderings, and documents created by myself and associated with a commission will include a subtle sign that you may not remove.
- I might create digital renderings, take photos, or record videos during the design process to use for promoting my work on social media.
- Digital renderings and/or photos of the final piece will be added to the Portfolio section of my website after completion and delivery of the commissioned piece. In some situations, I might wish to share details of the commissioned piece before completion, but this will be discussed and agreed with you in advance.
- I have the right to reject any order that I do not feel comfortable with for any reason.
- Prices are subject to change.
Payment
- Prices are calculated and presented in the currency GBP.
- Commissions are paid 50% as an initial non-refundable deposit1 with the remaining 50% is due within 30 days of delivery.
- Please do not send a payment until I have agreed to go ahead with the commission and requested payment for it.
- The payment is collected by a payment system, e.g. PayPal, which might convert the agreed price to your local currency. The payment system may introduce extra fees beyond the agreed price which are not in my control.2
Process and Delivery
- Before starting work on your commission, we will discuss and agree a description of the commissioned piece.
- I will notify you when I am starting work on your commission.
- While I am working on your commission I will share updates on the progress with you so that you can review and be sure the work is going exactly as you would like!
- The number of reviews during the commission depends on the complexity of the work.
- The colours in a digital rendering of a model are a faithful representation of the colours of the parts in a physical model, but they might show up differently in the final physical model.3
- The time it takes to finish your commission varies between 1 week and 4 months depending on factors such as health, the complexity of the commissioned piece, and other work. The agreed delivery date tries to take these factors into account.
- I will let you know as soon as possible if anything comes up that will slow down progress and impact the initially agreed delivery date.
- What is received on the delivery date varies for each commission. This will be agreed before starting work on the commission.
Revisions
- While I am working on the commission, you will have many opportunities to review the design, and feedback changes so that the commissioned piece is exactly how you want it.
- Changes to the model are expected to be small refinements of the design, rather than substantial changes to the idea. If the changes are believed to move the design too far from the idea initially agreed, we will revisit the initial quote and budget.
- After the commissioned piece has been delivered, my work on the commission is usually considered complete.4 Further changes to the commissioned piece would normally treated as a new commission that builds upon the previous. Please contact me to explore this further.
Copyright/Usage Policy
- I, Bhaveet Shah (the artist) claim the rights to the produced design.
- Use of the design is licensed to you under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license. You can read more about this here.
- If the commission includes a physical model, you will own the delivered model and its parts.
Customer Satisfaction
- I will do everything I can to make sure you are happy with the commissioned piece!
- If you have a problem with anything in regards to the commissioned piece please let me know promptly so we can find a solution together.
- I am willing to change some of my terms if we discuss and agree them before I start on your commission. For example, if you do not wish your piece to be featured in my social media, please let me know before we start.
Refund/Cancellation Policy
- If you cancel a commission, for any reason, before work has started on it you will receive a full refund of any payments made.
- If you cancel a commission after work has started, you are not entitled to receive a refund of the initial deposit. If circumstances change which impact your ability to continue with a commission, please reach out to me as soon as possible so that I stop working on it, and we review options.5
Footnotes
- The deposit covers costs that I will incur when working on your piece. For example, if you are receiving a physical model, the initial payment will go towards buying the parts needed for its construction. ↩︎
- My intention is to be transparent in my pricing, covering all the costs I am expecting to face, so that the agreed budget or the quoted price is accurate. Charges on the payment system associated with the payment might not be visible to me. ↩︎
- If any colours are particularly important, please let me know. I am limited by the parts available to me, but other techniques can be explored. For example, using a sticker or painting a part might be a suitable solution in some cases. ↩︎
- I recognize you might only find some things need changing when you see the final model. I will do what I can to help you if this happens. Please contact me and we can explore what can be done. ↩︎
- I cannot promise a full refund after work has started because I may have started incurring costs on doing the work. Through discussion we might be able to reach an appropriate compromise for your individual circumstances. ↩︎
